Centrum Institutional Equities operates under Centrum Broking Ltd.–a 100% subsidiary of Centrum Capital, –and is rated amongst the leading institutional brokers with specialisation in midcap research segment. We provide extensive coverage to secondary market broking along with primary equity offerings, including IPOs/QIPs, catering specifically to domestic institutional investors. We service over 100 prestigious clients, covering domestic mutual funds, insurers, foreign portfolio investors and private equity players.

A full-fledged research division and a strong sales and dealing team help us provide broking services in a seamless manner. We have been leveraging the strong brand value of Centrum Group, servicing our clients with varied financial products and many flagship events and conferences.

Sales Team

We service clients across multiple geographies through a dedicated sales team having an average experience of over 15 years. Our diverse clients include mainly domestic institutional investors across MFs, insurers and regional funds. We have also made considerable inroads into the Asia-Pacific region and Great Britain servicing FIIs.

One of our core strengths is the close collaboration between our sales and research teams, thereby helping us offer niche investment ideas to our clients, apart from organizing road-shows and other prestgious events. Our sales team has a proven track record of successfully completing primary market offerings, QIPs and follow-on offerings.

Some of our successfully completed deals include QIPs of Sarla Performance Fibers, Moldtek Packaging and Talwalkars, which were placed with marquee investors such as HDFC MF, DSP BlackRock MF and CanaraRobeco MF amongst others.

Sales Trading & Execution

Dealing and sales trading are the critical last-mile components for us to ensure quality service to our clients. We have made substantial investments into systems, processes and technology to ensure a competitive business environment on one hand and meeting legal compliances on the other. A system-backed and process-driven approach leaves little room for complaints. At the same time, a strong team plays a pivotal role in blending technology with skills.

We focus on every client order with equal commitment, be it working on block deals or executing floor orders. Our highly experienced cash/ derivatives sales trading & dealing team has executed large transactions for both FIIs and DIIs. Our proven capability in large transactions in index/stock F&Os is well recognized. Our trading desk helps clients in executing orders in the most effective manner by minimizing market impact and enabling access to liquidity at the same time.

Our team monitors and scans market movements in a proactive manner and has been demonstrating a time-proven capability in searching liquidity (blocks), news flow and trading strategies (cash & derivatives), thereby helping clients make informed decisions with regards arbitrage, rollovers and other trading opportunities.

  • Talwalkars’ Better Value Fitness – From Fitness to Wellness: Successfully raised Rs. 45 crores & Rs.107 crores through two transactions.
  • MoldTek Packaging – Successfully raised Rs. 55 crores at Rs. 220 a share
  • Magma Fincorp – Successfully raised USD 27 million at Rs. 60 per share
  • Aegis Logistics – Successfully concluded the preferential allotment of equities worth Rs. 750 million for Aegis Logistics at Rs. 322 a share.

Conference – Centrum Corporate Connect

We hosted around 50 corporates in May 2016 as part of Centrum Corporate Connect. Over 60 institutional investors and PE funds participated. This calendar event was first organized in May 2014 and will be held annually.

Auto Insights Day

We organized an Auto Insights Day conference in September 2015. The event saw participation from leading organisations like Jones Lang LaSalle, Micro Housing Finance Corp, National Housing Bank and GIC Housing Finance who discussed topics pertaining to the housing market, increasing urbanization and initiatives taken by the Government to promote the growth of the sector.

Textile Insights Day

We hosted a Textile Insights Day in October 2015. The event saw representation by six corporates – Welspun India, Indo Count Industries, Orbit Exports, Siyaram Silk Mills, Nandan Denim and Ashapura Initmates Fashion. The conference was well received with over 30+ institutional investor clients participating. More than 100+ meetings took place.
